Innovating the Solution
What is Resilience?
Resilience is our ability to navigate through duress. Our innovative tool is the first of it's kind for educators, showing individual and aggregate resilience quotient (RQ) scores each month.
RQ consists of 5 FACET's for student, educator or administrator longevity:
1. Fluidity: How well can I balance?
2. Amity: How hopeful can I remain?
3. Capacity: How much can I tolerate?
4. Elasticity: How well can I adapt?
5. Tenacity: How long can I maintain?
Each of the 5 FACET's has 5 critical tools (skills) (25 in total) that educators use to establish their resilience roadmap.
Our Approach
In 5 steps, you will have a fully scalable and sustainable program to improve faculty longevity through resilience.

Cost Savings
What could these improvements mean for your budget? Our goal is to scale resilience initiatives, making them self-sustaining through early and ongoing community engagement. The more interactions we have with faculty in the first two years, the faster we can build trust and foster higher levels of engagement.
Step Two: Empower
Resilience Advocates (RA's)
Resilience Advocates (RA) are the health ambassadors who embody, model, promote, and reward their peers creating greater engagement.
RA's are trained over the course of the year, interacting with others from different districts, developing a customized plan of action for their district.
This train the trainer model scales and sustains community growth, taking the burden off of leadership while growing faculty agency.

New Hires
The Educator Longevity Program (ELP) supports all new hires to ensure low attrition, creating a new generation of eager faculty to support student growth.
Educators, paras, and other faculty new to the district, gain a valuable opportunity to network with others, learn essential survival skills, and develop a resilience plan to help them overcome the challenges of being an educator.
Step Four: Enlighten
First there was IQ, then EQ, and now RQ, a measure of our innate plus learned ability to deal with acute and chronic distress through your resilience quotient (RQ).
RQ is the measure of integrated physiological and psychological health promoting faculty retention, student success, and school safety.
We measure RQ through 5 FACET's including
- Fluidity
- Amity
- Capacity
- Elasticity
- Tenacity
We display RQ (resilience quotient) through our dynamic assessment tool analytics (DATA), allowing individuals to track their progress and organizations to identify critical trends needing attention.
Through your dynamic assessment tool you will also be able to monitor your leader board, send messages to users, track points (for rewards), generate reports and more.
Our predict and prevent model is completely data driven, critical for decision making.
Step Five: Extend
Once the faculty are excited about this work, experiencing the benefits in their own lives, we can turnkey this learning to students.
- Curriculum Development
- Fun Student Competitions
- Student Leadership

Success Stories
"For our fourth annual administrator summer retreat, I suspected that our educators might be willing and able to take an evolutionary leap in their training. I immediately thought of Dr. Scherz, having seen him present in other venues. He worked closely with our planning team to tailor a two- hour workshop that not only met the needs of a diverse group of 75 preK-12 and district leaders but challenged us to think differently about students moving forward. More importantly, he left us with tools and strategies to help more students-- particularly those who are disengaged-- succeed."
Dr. Marc Natanagara, Assistant Superintendent, Toms River School District
