Negotiation of priorities and deliberation of ideas requires the skills of conveying and receiving information about ourselves or the world, with curiosity, discrimination, and acceptance. These are aspects of constructive differencing, the most critical skill not being taught in schools. In order for districts to move from conflict mediation, to actual deepening of relationships through differences, this needs to be modeled by the adults.

  2. Appreciate the concept of constructive differencing.
  3. Begin to consider an alternative framework for the paradigm of conflict.
