Dr. Jane Bluestein offers practical, effective ways to be an encourager, reinforcing effort and cooperative behavior, offering meaningful motivators, and emphasizing positive consequences and what kids are doing right.

Learning Objectives

  1. Recognize the value of being an encourager who focuses on progress and effort (rather than product or perfection).
  2. Discover practical examples of how teachers were able to turn around discouraged students with recognition, encouragement, and do-overs.
  3. Learn to use access to meaningful motivators (positive outcomes), starting with what kids are doing right, to encourage students commitment and engagement.

Dr. Bluestein specializes in programs and resources geared to provide practical and meaningful information, training and hope in areas related to relationship building, effective instruction and guidance, and personal growth and development. Much of her work focuses on interactions between adults and children, especially children at risk. Her down-to-earth speaking style, practicality, sense of humor, and numerous stories and examples make her ideas clear and accessible to her audiences.
