Class Climate & Student Behavior Part I

Engagement Details

The idea of creating a safe place to engage has been consistently promoted over the years. However, such an idea is seldom, if ever, presented with the information and necessary tools. This engagement introduces the concept of school climate and begins the discussion on ways to create a positive and safe climate for learning and development.

Learning Objectives

  1. Appreciate the value of class/school climate and its potential impact on student behavior, attitudes, achievement, and interactions with others.
  2. Understand the comprehensive nature of a win-win approach to emotionally safe classrooms and schools.
  3. Examine challenges that have distracted or obstructed our intentions to create emotionally safe, win-win classrooms.
